MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - More than $660, two computers and a car were stolen during an armed robbery in Myrtle Beach early Sunday evening, according to area investigators.
Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department were dispatched to Tienda Mexican Cissy, located at 700 Seaboard St., at 5 p.m. Sunday in reference to an armed robbery and vehicle theft.
An employee at the store told responding officers two males walked into the store to inquire about the Myrtle Beach and Latin clubs in the area. The employee said throughout the duration of the conversation, the two men asked about a variety of the items.
The employee said as he was reaching for a blue belt, one of the suspects struck him in the neck and pulled him to the ground. Police said the suspects stole the victim's wallet, $300 from his left pocket, a set of vehicle keys and a cellular phone. The two men also stole a Gateway lap top computer, Dell lap top computer and $200 from the store's cash register.
The two men fled from the area in the stolen vehicle, which was later recovered during a traffic stop.
Police have described the first suspect as a Latino male in his early 20s, standing approximately 5'6" with a goatee and bald head. The man, according to the employee, was wearing a white shirt and striped shorts at the time of the incident.
The man's accomplice was described as a Latino male in his early 20s, standing approximately 5'8" to 5'10". Officials described the man as wearing a purple long-sleeved shirt, black jeans and earrings in both ears.
Anyone with information on the armed robbery and identification of the suspects is asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department immediately.
